In a hostile landscape, the state exists to protect its people. If you have a weak head of state, you will very quickly not have a state at all. Bullies, weapons, power. It's not pleasant or delightful, but it is necessary.

It's really an economy of scale thing, and is not that surprising. The economy of scale is separately at the level of hardware procurement, security, interop, bandwidth, access to electricity, and probably other things. This isn't

Most of this critique hinges on the author not being skilled in the practice of using LLMs to produce good writing outputs. ChatGPT is a bad writer, and is the wrong tool for copy writing. That is a consequence of its post-training, though.

There are many very good reasons why the top 100 most valuable people would not be the department heads. Cracked engineers, designers, growth people, AEs... the best ICs shouldn't necessarily be in management positions. Yet, the CEO sh

My guess is that this is strongly motivated by the success of LLMs. The lack of MD support makes manual IO from Docs to your favorite LLM lossy (or very annoying). Cool that it's fixed.

I feel that this argument is pretty outdated at this point. Most new SPAs people build use frameworks like NextJS that solve all of the big complaints. Sure, there's plenty of old, crufty SPAs from the pre-react-router days still out t

This all makes sense, thank you. And with ChatGPT are you using the paid version? I have been experimenting with both and found the free version to be very bad. The paid version seems to make fewer mistakes.

The field of research here is far older than ChatGPT's release. Neural network research has been going on for at least 50 years. Most of the research that enabled ChatGPT was also already known. "Attention is all you need" wa
