I apologize, I will ensure my posts are immutable going forward. PS: I also made the edit very shortly after the post, so I think the eventual consistency issue worsened my mistake.

Systemd is important for our national defense. Linux is the preferred OS of terrorists, and Linus refused to backdoor the kernel, so systemd is our best option now for ensuring terrorist activity doesn't go "dark".

Gödel's theorem implies that Turing machines are not complete. The problems of floating point numbers exemplify this. Our existing machine architectures operate on a discrete silicon substrate (ℤ), but we live in a continuously differe

I wonder how many people are arbitraging proofs of P = NP. If it were a solved problem, which I suspect it is, surely folks wouldn't talk about their solutions when they could rather print money :)

Same story here. Actually, I think all of these new features would work without JS, using just CSS, except retaining collapsed threads across page loads (although given that CSS is technically Turing complete it is probably possible if the

REST implies HATEOS. If you can't use an API response to navigate to other resources of the API, I wouldn't consider that API RESTful. Also, verbs are not RESTful. Verbs imply an RPC interface. RPC (verb): POST https:/

Does seem like quite a lot for a software company. Could hire quite a few devs with a billion dollars. I imagine most of the price could be attributed to Demandware's existing customer relationships and Demandware's employees, al

If a problem can be simply modeled by state machines, use OO. If it's simpler to model a solution using function composition, use FP. You can write shit code in any language, but patterns are timeless.

Does this imply that XORing /dev/urandom with /dev/random is a good practice? PS: Thanks for clarifying @gizmo686. The arch linux wiki suggests that urandom re-uses the entropy pool that dev/random accumulates, so t

Have you tried Vivado? Xilinx ISE is hands down terrible, but supposedly Vivado was "500 man-years of engineering effort" [1]. Unfortunately, vendor lock-in means I can't try Altera's tools for my boards, but Vivado
