I only use Google to find news I've heard about from in-person conversations. I know quite a few people that visit the Verge and similar sites on a daily basis, and they have no intention of reading all their content. I think it's better to

If you're a prospective buyer, knowing the availability of popular software is valuable knowledge. I, for one, would not want to buy a $500+ tablet based on its potential for running good software.

They can revoke access for clients that don't comply with the display guidelines. They probably don't want to be in the business of policing 3rd parties like that, but they have the power if they want to use it.

The reason parts of the tech celebrity circle (like Gruber, Siracusa, and Arment) supported App.net was because of Twitter's new hostility to third-party developers, not because of spam.

That's great, but I'm sure most people would rather spend more data in exchange for more accurate and complete maps. Another thing to remember: with LTE larger maps wouldn't even take much longer to download.

In my experience, it's far more rare to find a person who knows and uses any keyboard shortcuts. When I run training sessions I'm amazed at how many people don't even know the shortcuts for copy and paste. And these are folks that use compu

Professional designers should be able to easily justify the expense of a non-retina external monitor. You can get a 24 inch standard LCD monitor for less than $200 these days.

As someone who bought Sparrow during their sale last week, I feel ripped off. I don't think they owe me free updates forever, but I would have liked to have known that it was a fire sale.

I agree, but coming to the conclusion that you don't have all the answers shouldn't mean inaction. Inhumane treatment of animals, brutal working conditions, and environmental damage are moral problems we should be addressing as a species.

Plain old HTML is a fundamental building block of the web. It was designed to be, and still succeeds in being, a simple to learn tool to create documents for consumption by web browsers. Sure, it has added complexity over the years, but you
