Of course that's not the main aim of the person in the thread. The aim is a timeline cross referencing different data sources.

There are many such ways to approximate somewhat arbitrary functions. Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Spaces for example. The fact that NN can reproduce arbitrary functions is decidedly not what makes them special...

It seems like in this case you want to version API and program separately. API changes aren't the only thing people care about or that should be communicated in a version number. So semver would not just be "not perfect" but

"Lastly, assholes make for effective leaders." I wish that this idea would die out. I have seen no evidence for it. The most effective leaders I have worked with and under, and those I try to emulate were never assholes. Or if so

The article says in the introduction: > I am going to be assuming some familiarity with monads (and to a certain extent, do notation). There are enough introductions to monads out there as it is.

I am fully invested in Julia but I have found it's far from being productive for large scale projects. It's hard to encode interfaces and invariants (in practice this is done by documentation instead of code) and code is not very

More importantly to me, Julias combination of features means code is not very self documenting and error messages are (often) terrible. If I need to understand what subtle assumption of DifferentialEquations I violated stepping into the poi

If VW offers a wide range of EVs at reasonable prices the argument that we need extensions and exceptions will be hard to make. VWs move creates a regulatory environment beneficial to VWs move. TCO of EVs is about the same now and will be c

You're right of course. Not intentional. 0:3 picks out index 0, 1, 2. So 1:3 picks out the second and third element, which are indexed by 1 and 2 respectively. My guess is that what one prefers probably depends entirely on the data str

Good luck with that. The 0-based indexing is non-existent outside of programming. No one who doesn't do pointer arithmetic would come up with it. In mathematics 1...N is a perfectly good notation. Julia expresses the same idea with 1:N

I was talking about getting your paper peer reviewed, not placing it in a particular journal. If you want to get into PLOS One I don't think your university matters very much.
