I followed much the same path as you. And then I did buy the Micro Four Thirds camera for an overseas holiday. It was better enough to satisfy my craving for manual settings and RAW output. But it was bulky enough for it to be a decision &q

Maybe that isn't his point. A lot of people don't use UI optimally. They "Go to google, type what they want, google gives it to them." Sure, you could click on the 9 dots on the top right and select maps for google maps.

Yeah, I keep coming back to this "$1 billion idea" of building a solar plant on big shed roofs. Quite literally buy a reasonable sized property in the country(with/near rail) and cover it in sheds. Once the solar energy outpu

Many comments about overtime being banned as though it is a bad thing. My understanding was that "Overtime" was meant to be used sparingly for short term circumstances - not for months on end - to avoid burnout. From a labour cost

You seem bummed out by the idea of where the world is going. Look back at "The Future" as thought of by people in the 1950's and see how accurate they were. So don't think you will be accurate. And if it is that bad, or

I agree with you. My frustrations centre around wait times after starting an app. Am I waiting for CPU? No. Storage? No. I am waiting for some friggin call-home/update-check/irrelevant network request. Edit:brevity, removal of pro

One issue with capitalism as it currently stands, it is largely based on self-interest. On the one hand, GP laments lack of work on local social issues. On the other hand, GP is competing with everyone in that local area for the best jobs a

Not sure where I heard it but: "No decision is a decision." IE Decide to put off your decision until later. People agitating for everyone to "voice their opinion now" are often looking to form a mandate from those opinio

I am a fan of water cooling too. Built gaming rig for my brother. He had an issue and posted it over 3000km (2000 miles) while full of water. Was fine. I fixed it, refilled it and posted it back! Still running 5 years later. But I do go a l
