BCE is 3% cash for groceries, online retail + gas which is pretty good for $0 AF. Still, I use the Gold Card for groceries and restaurants, 4X points and 3x on flights. There are other eco systems, Chase + Capital One. There are hotel cards

I'm not seeing your future where cash is banned. I am seeing my present where I'm not using cash very much (but still a little).

Society? Yeah, that would be the unbanked. But cash still exists and I occasionally get it to pay people.

Platinum, Gold and BCE. I don't really like the Platinum but then I got a huge SUB and the benefits, credits and perks outweigh the $695 AF. It's just complex to use to get AF back. I really like the Gold. It's has a $250 AF

I hate ATMs. When I need cash (which is rarely) I get it at the grocery store. I have to use my debit card but it costs me nothing. Thank you, grocery store.

I keep my money at a bank. If I want to spend cash, I have to go to the bank, the ATM, and get it. The bank is indeed an unavoidable middle man. The card just simplifies the transaction.

IRL I mostly use credit cards. On a recent trip to the UK+Ireland, I exclusively used credit cards behind Apple Pay. Indeed I rarely use an actual credit card and I leave most of them in a sock drawer. It's usually behind Apple Pay. So

Fast container ships, they still exist with speeds of even 29 knots. But they're for shippers who pay for that speed. https://www.freightwaves.com/news/maersk-container-ships-big...

The article mentions the Bulbous Bow but it doesn't really explain it. A ship going through water has hull drag which shows up as a bow wave. This drag is a (decreasing!) function of hull length (sqrt(LWL)). Longer boats have less dr

There is also the ANTLR parser generator which generates a top-down parser. It's nice to write in a grammar. Still, almost all production lexers and parsers are hand written. https://www.antlr.org

Yes, you are meant to import the Python package and just use that. Mojo is a Python superset. It speeds up math but then relies on CPython for grunt work.

That's pretty simple but it doesn't explain how or why low quality startups will get weeded out. It explains why there will be fewer startups but it says nothing about their quality.

Why is the era of low quality startups over? Have VC’s suddenly become better judges of talent, market and technology? Have founders suddenly become more serious? Last year A16Z funded Adam Neumann for $350M for a blockchain carbon credit

We have the same thing in California. We have rice and pistachio farmers in the Central Valley. It makes no sense to grow rice and pistachios in a water challenged environment. Then you see Congress Created Dust Bowl signs on I5.
