I suppose I should have said "possible threat". I do a lot of combat/defense training and after a while you become conditioned to assess those that are behaving oddly or breaking social norms. I tend to see his actions as somewhat agressive

I've had the old 15" macboo pro, a 13" air and now the 15" retina. Never noticed less space on the screen. Only thing I did notice was everything is more crisp. Doesn't bother me at all.

What a terrible idea. This guy is going to get himself killed. I think there are two issues here, one that he is filming but also that he is invading personal space and picking out specific people and essentially staring at them. Tactically

It seems a lot of these examples are from 'internet marketing businesses' or people selling info products on "how to make money online" or "how to create an email auto responder". I've been following the internet marketing niche on and off

I feel like robot calls used to be much more common. I think I only get maybe 2-3 a year now. I think most recently they were from DirecTV and GNC. I tend to give out my Google Voice phone number to businesses and non personal contacts so I

PowToon looks really great. I need to create a few of these videos soon and I've been looking at different tools and thinking of using keynote but this seems like a much easier and faster solution.

I think thats a good point. Simply put: for this product to be beneficial to its users they shouldn't have to use it for a long time. The goal is to find out quickly whether or not people want to buy your test product. It's not something yo

Cool story I guess but at the end I'm left wondering how much of it is true and how much is exaggerated just to sound 'cool'. I can't help but pick up quite a bit of arrogance in his answers.

I cant tell if this was a joke or not... EVERY SINGLE post about stripe, the first comment is always "When is stripe coming to X country".

There was a similar discussion on how terrible car dealers are a few weeks ago on HN when tesla announced their stores. The car dealer model is clearly flawed. As an auto enthusiast and someone who spends way to much money on my cars I abso

We've always found that by replacing "username" with "email address" makes logging in a lot easier. Most users already know their email address. By using a username thats one more thing they have to remember.

Any reason you decided to launch this on a Friday? Or just random? I'm wondering what kind of data people have seen for the best day of the week to attract attention to a launch.

I agree. I know Patrick is known around HN for giving out good info but watching some of his videos was oddly distracting to me because something in the back of my mind reminds how awkward they are. Even just start by losing the nerdy heads

Ha very funny. My first thought was 'this sounds awfully a lot like a QR code'. Also, as an iPhone user I feel NFC is not used nearly enough. Maybe Android users feel differently but until NFC is brought to the iphone I just dont see this b

Just read through the whole thread on the s2000 forum, I'm an auto enthusiast but I was more interested in how this kid knows how to do all of this more than I am interested in the car. 16 years old and you know how to retrofit an s2000 wit
