This is only true in a world where being an electrician, plumber, heating and cooling technician, etc. -- all jobs that are in-demand and pay $100K+/year -- have a negative stigma attached to them. Mike Rowe gave a great Ted talk about

I spent four hours in a county court room one morning. You can do it, too. I regularly heard the judge dole out terms like "5 years in state prison, with a month of credit for every 3 months of work." Convicts were literally being

Sorry to go off-topic, but the way that font combined 'st' (with a loop back from the 't' to the top-center of the 's') was very visually distracting to me. Did that bother anyone else?

Have you considered keeping all your code in one git repo? That allows you to know exactly how code dependencies fit together. This approach is almost certainly not a robust, long-term solution, but it has served us well for a couple years,

* Same for music. Do you want to be in the place where creation happens, or a pit stop on the tour? This one is bullshit. Plenty of bands came from Ohio, including OAR, the Foo Fighters, and the Black Keys. IMO, the live music scene in Colu

I agree. I grew up in Ohio, and to me, Pittsburgh and the rest of western PA is part of the Midwest. It has the same farmland/steel-town culture that Ohio does. Obviously Philadelphia is not, so I would argue that the dividing line is

I was a server at Ruby Tuesday for years, where I made $2.85/hr plus tips. I averaged $8-20 per hour in tips (toward the higher end on weekends and holidays), but I was one of the better servers. The hourly wage only covered taxes.
