That's the first thing that occurred to me too. It could also not be constant even at the same place, i.e. could it not be speeding up and slowing down as the universe expands?

Your nodes & containers keep running, but is your networking up when your control plane is down?

I love k8s, but bringing back up a single app that crashed is a very different problem from "our k8s is down" - because if you think your k8s won't go down, you're in for a surprise. You can view a single k8s also as a s

Sounds like we need a WSL in the other direction - have a Windows subsystem for Linux, so that your $distro integrates with Windows and you can run apps on Windows while having the window show up on your Linux system :)

So even after this thought process, it comes down to "do you trust the author" (just like before it)... Not unreasonable to answer either way if you ask me.

Depending on the phone, if the phone has a USB-C, you could definitely turn it into a NAS with an external disk caddy and an ethernet connection (usb-c port extenders do that). That said, it'd definitely be cheaper and better user expe

I'd say the saying is common in a lot of Eastern European languages, not only Russian :)

It's open source for sure. But yeah, there's no DIY required (which is why ZSA and their keyboards are so popular - it's the Apple of the DIY-programmable-ergonomic-keyboard world, providing excellent build quality and great

If only UHK was ortholinear. I have Ergodox EZ now and it's almost perfect. Wouldn't want to go back to a non-ortholinear keyboard.

Ads do not encourage more use, they do the opposite - annoy users into closing the app. Teens do not need encouragement to spend more time on TikTok than they already do.

IT work does not force you to stare at content that's spreading brain rot... Unless you work with in a cloud-native, ai-native environment that has more microservices than developers I guess (I jest, I jest).

Isn't it reasonable to assume that one of the consequences will be "Google, and nobody else, can do this," therefore applying OP's logic?

They could, and they should, but they definitely won't. Similar to how they use just a ChatGPT anonymized wrapper for their "advanced AI features", they'll just outsource search to some big player as well.

Right, much better to deal with all of those issues in production only.

Honestly, I'd like to see the candidate's CV. This description seems off to me: > I've got a lot of skills - video production, security, Linux, Mikrotiks, Ciscos, virtualization, cloud, domains, DNS, the list goes on and o

Well, the correct path forward would be to wait for a large OSS player, like Red Hat, SUSE, Canonical, ..., and make the build secure. Typically, Fedora and openSUSE have a policy that distributed packages (which includes container images)

The last time I tried, I couldn't get a VM running for whatever reason. Any issues with OC?

Why would "Before delving into code..." be a red flag that marks the text as LLM-generated?

How is it "for free?" Do you need Canonical and 20-page essay to reflect about your high school achievements? Or can I bill canonical for my work on the insane 10+ round interview process?

by BossingAround 2y ago
So op thought "I want to develop Linux" and applied to Canonical? That's like wanting to make it as a painter and going to your local highschool to study. Yes, nobody wants to work with Shuttleworth, it's a pain. Yes, Ca

Sounds to me more like you consume _a lot_ (therefore have a very strong physical dependence) rather than having extremely fast metabolism. Alternatively, you might be prone to migraines, and thus are sensitive to headaches of all kinds. Th

Caffeine doesn't enhance any function, it simply masks tiredness in the short term, at the cost of reduced quality of sleep. The question is, does caffeine "clearly enhance" cognitive functions long-term.

Probably one of the most useless and pointless TLA I've come across so far. TIHI.

Isn't it better to find out? I.e. first to stop with the caffeine, then wait until your body readjusts (e.g. a month or two), and possibly get diagnosed by a professional in case you do feel like you need help? Diagnosis doesn't n

How much caffeine do you consume regularly? Sounds to me like your body potentially has too much already, and is reacting by making you drowsy. Note that caffeine is also in non-coffee/tea related beverages like sodas (e.g. Coke/P

Anyone with anxiety or sleep issues should reexamine their caffeine usage. Maybe those problems do not stem from caffeine, but maybe they do. I don't know many people that do not consume caffeine regularly, at least once a day - in suc
