Some people have long term negative effects from LASIK like extremely dry eyes, halos, loss of night vision, etc. These effects vary in severity. A very, very, very small percentage of people who got LASIK had such severe side effects that

It blew my mind when moved to Ireland and saw that GPs/dentists etc. posted prices for services. How sad is that?

I think it’s an intersection of quality and price for Costco. In my experience, you can certainly get things for much cheaper elsewhere in terms of price, but not at the same quality. Costco definitely pays off if you have a family of 4+. I

Agreed. Not dismissing scaling social media as a trivial technical issue, but the real challenge with building a social media platform is building out the community that cause the tech scaling problems.

I would LOVE to have an EV that’s a “dumb car”. I have no interest on my car providing me all of the extra bells and whistles that I already get from my phone. What kills me too is the giant screen with smart features on these cars is extre

I’ve had the same experience… when I can get a human on the phone, they’ve all been really friendly and helpful. This has been a trend in the last couple of years. I’ve even had good experiences at the DMV the last time I went. I thought I

How do management teams get to such a point where they’re so wildly out of touch like this? I guess the only nice thing is that they’re being upfront about it so people know to bail/not join.

Likely just a lack of organizational expertise. Also, if you use some of the tools out there advertised to make K8s easier (operators + Helm) - you actually do have a harder time debugging the thing if you don’t know K8s well due to how m

I’m a “wait for the 2.0 or 3.0” person, but I’m grateful to the people who dive in for the 1.0. They’re the people who provide the feedback that helps make the 2.0 better.

I think this is a great approach. Just looking at the comments here - I'm not sure how many devs would jump for a git replacement. However, anything that solves version control for all of the non-code cases is VERY compelling.
