At least it’s unique compared to the regular CoC nonsense. A CoC should reflect the values of those who work on a project and/or the project itself, if this does all the power to them. There’s nothing saying a CoC has to be the standar

This has actually occurred to people who have visited me (as I mentioned in another post I’m in a class 2, just barely off of a class 1). I find it comforting, but one family member was throughly freaked out/overwhelmed. It was a clear

I live within a Class 2 location and can get to a Class 1 in about a 20 minute drive. It’s one of the few things I actually like about where I live. In fact it’s probably the single best thing about where I live and it’s an extremely rare p

The bills aren’t going to pay themselves and jobs are limited where I live. It’s remote or nothing and remote is getting harder to find.

From watching other people’s lives this seems way easier on paper than in reality. It’s a huge risk no matter what.

It’s a short piece, but it resonates with me, specifically this part: > I’m earning the most money I’ve ever made and yet I’m the least fulfilled I’ve ever been. I’m making the most I’ve ever made and I’ve never been less happy and more

I am seriously addicted to the internet in general and while it may not be an addiction in the physical sense, it has caused major issues in my life. The amount of time I spend on the Internet is insane and no matter how hard I try to will

I don’t think I’ve ever seen HN react so negatively to a project, but I think that has to do with the image people have of what a “browser” is. Kristall isn’t very useful for HTTP even though it supports the protocol. That said its goal is

It’s disheartening to see so many posts like this on ‘Hacker’News. It doesn’t have to be some big, serious thing for people to either enjoy or find useful. Some people had an idea, went out, and made it a reality, built a small community ar

Nothing, I have realized nothing I have ever built actually mattered. Some of it made a bit more money, but none was impactful. It's actually really hard to deal with.

I don't want touch screens in cars period and I can't stand this trend of using them. I'm finally starting to understand the feelings my grandfather had for anything thing he considered superfluous or inconvenient in a car.

I don't know if we claim to use SAFe were I work, but this sounds very similar to my experience. It frustrates me to no end, but as a contractor I don't get a say and the full time employees seem to be okay with the status quo. I
