There is a great approach in Quasar [1] where you program simple blocking code, and the runtime (bytecode manipulation with a Java agent) unmounts and remounts thin contexts in the fat thread you are in. A light thread, if you will. No even

If someone can ELI5 to me what is Pearl's do-calculus, that'd be quite great. I have tried to build an understanding of it since he got the Turing prize, but have failed so far.

This seems to be begging for an FPGA Tensorflow back-end. To my knowledge, quality speech-to-text is quite compute intensive; and can't run with reasonable latency on a Raspberry Pi Zero, for example. Coupled with a chat-bot you could

A great move for Google would be to treat notifications in Android as Google Now cards; i.e have some machine learn if it is relevant content. Observing if the user has opened the notification, and also offer more feedback options in the lo

It wouldn't prevent humans from remembering the mails, too. But screenshots are easily faked, and IMHO might (and should) not hold up in court. This is the equivalent of hearsay.

I'm very happy they list "Opening up the black boxes of AI" as a main point. While we have very powerful classification devices able to navigate the subtle hidden topology of a problem, this is still correlation. To me Explai

It is sad that us developers -actors in the very resource they are fighting for (our mindshare)- do not get any say in this. Java belongs in a Foundation.

I'd say exploiting parallelism is not the only way at all. Parallelism is only one way to compute differently. Specialization of hardware to specific workloads will explode in the next years as we can't rely anymore on Moore'

Some say some books need to be chewed and digested, but that it is worth the effort. Well, I've been chewing this from time to time since his 2011 Turing prize; and I have yet to be able to build an understanding around it. Understandi
