I think its important to make a distinction between GitHub attempting to ensure they are in legal compliance with a sanction and approving of the sanction happening at all. You can disagree with the sanction while still being understanding

Its also <24,000 cars in the US. So pretty small compared to others. Major US car manufacturers recall millions of vehicles at a time. And I believe the Takata Airbag recall covered something like 70 million across all manufacturers.

If the software is performing actions that are illegal, such as money laundering, for an entity that is a threat to national security, that is no longer covered by free speech. Right? Having or writing the code may be covered by free speech

I don't think so. The sanctions are against Tornado Cash the entity, as well as specific ETH addresses associated with it. No individuals are cited in the sanction that I am aware of.

I would expect they all did. Typically I have my fork and PR from the fork in anything I contribute to. Edit: Unless it was members of the organization who had direct write access to the repos? Which I saw mentions of in other comments.

Your quick start link just links to the iOS SDK on GitHub. Perhaps things would make more sense if that were available, but right now no idea how to use your tool. And it appears that there are some html docs in the python repo, but they do

I am not a beginner myself but I would expect it would actually be a much larger pain point for a beginner. If they don't know where to start or what they need to do they may get overwhelmed by some 2000 word essay totally irrelevant t

What did it force you to do that you didn't care about? I don't have any other language skills but it offered me ways to test out to higher levels and such. I figured that would get people with knowledge to a better spot.

Personally I don't mind this change just fixing a plot hole by changing a word. And yes you can buy Season 1 and 2 but what if they did it in Season 3 which you can't buy? It just so happens in this case that they did it to a seas

That's how I remember it being at least but that was in 1997. They had a whole new theatrical releases for them and all that. They even sold a DVD set with the original theatrical versions as bonus material [1]. But they have lost the

In this specific case you could buy Stranger Things Season 2 on Blu-ray which would have the original version on it. But that is probably getting to be a rare case, especially since you can't buy Season 3.

I think the medium is the main difference. An old movie you have on tape or whatever physical media and would need to go buy an additional copy of a new version of it. Whereas something primarily on streaming can change on you without notic

I am normally pretty good about updating firmware on stuff, but never even thought about camera firmware until this post. Sure enough my 8 year old Nikon has some updates. Including one from 2020, 6 years after it came out. Not the 10 years

Oh, that is an interesting one I hadn't thought about. Since I expected IPv6 to just never change. I have all my IPs configured static internally, and have DNS going over to AdGuard Home. Even have the firewall set up to force all DNS

The minimum subnet size in IPv6 is a /64 (18 quintillion IPs), and I think typically IPSs have been doing /56 delegation so you can have 256 of the /64 subnets. It means every device ever gets its own IP, and you never have t

In my experience CentOS basically let you get all the security benefits from RHEL with none of the costs. So it has been popular to minimize budgets.

I like the idea of DREAM. I find that there are lots of things I would like to improve, but not worth it at this time. Or even maybe ever. But it doesn't feel 'standard' either. While I am sure a team could set up custom high
