I like that method. Where there is a TODO referencing the ticket number. Makes it easier to find the ticket, or where in the code the ticket references. And helps to ensure there actually is a ticket so it isn't forgotten about down th

It certainly can affect reading. As the other commenter stated, it can affect people in may different ways. It affects my reading differently based on the content. Ask me to read a textbook for a history class and I won't make it more

I am still dialing things in myself, but a few things I have noted so far. On one I was able to notice just over 8 hour after taking it every day a behavior change back to being on my phone and distracted. It meant something was working at

You put this quite well. I knew I was ADHD long ago, and just went about my life not wanting to change. And I even found a job which wasn't particularly negativley affected by it. But finally I realized how badly it was affecting my re

I think the distinction here is more that this person was already a working professional. And seems to have had the appropriate knowledge to pass most of the classes already. I got my Masters in a field I had already been working in for yea

Isn't a big part of Arrival that the aliens don't experience time the same way we do? Or something along those lines. When something that fundamental is different, that has to become a major hurdle in communication. Whereas the al

I have also seen Universities in the US to charge higher tuition for foreign students. Not entirely sure why. Mostly seems like it is because they know they can, and those students will pay in full. With no tuition assistance or anything li

I am not sure about main Khan Academy, but Khan Academy Kids has been a great resource. Completely free educational app with no advertisement in it. It has been hard to find anything else that can compare. Does it go down hill from there?

What do you mean by "subluxations" being a myth? Most of my back issues come from subluxation of the T2 vertebra. As shown by x-rays and physically being able to feel that is is out of alignment with the rest of the spine. Are you

Our CI pipeline actually just runs `pre-commit run -all` on the repo too. So we know if someone doesn't have it turned on. But I could definitely see taking mypy out of pre-commit, and having it just be a CI step. Rather than waiting t

Yeah, when you just want to add a checkpoint WIP commit its annoying. Hate having to fight with that. But it prevents people form submitting a PR and then just having CI fail anyways. I could see it being nice to only enforce on CI though.

What speed are you looking for in your CI pipline that you are not getting from mypy? Perhaps you are working on a much larger codebase than I am but the app I use it in takes under a minute. And all the unit tests take longer to run.

There are still a lot of libraries without hints, so mypy has to be told to ignore them in the setup.cfg file. Last I checked, sqlalchemy still isn't so good with mypy. So we have it ignored. But mypy is still great overall.

We use pre-commit and you can't even commit until it passes mypy. It can be a bit frustrating sometimes, but overall it has saved us from a lot of issues.

Very nice. On thing I would like to see a rotation range for multi page PDFs. A 10 page document won't all be identical rotation. One might be -0.2 and the next 0.3.

Location data can come from a lot of things that are being pieced together into a really good guess even when parts are missing. GPS and the other satellites like GLONASS. Nearby WiFi hotspots since they are all pretty much known locations.
