I think that is a particular ability - I can do so as well, but I also recognize that it may be more the exception than the norm. That said, I very much like private offices more.

Even UI developers often get exposed to Invision, especially if mobile is involved - it’s a very useful tool.

My response to that would be that if someone remembers differently, they should treat their coworkers with respect and give them the benefit of the doubt if there is no reason why anyone should be skeptical. That is not a good work dynamic

I have never had to do this nor seen anything like this behavior in my 6 years of work in the industry. This sounds incredibly in bad faith, and I would probably take it as a signal to go job search for a better work environment if I witnes

This is something I generally recommend to juniors, which goes against a lot of advice I’m seeing here - spend more time learning if your work is all good for the day. Early on, it is important to ramp up to get to senior as quickly as poss

I’d argue even 10 years ago the quality of Time was questionable. One of my friends was interviewed on chiptunes by Time at around that time due to a success of a Kickstarter for a Miles Davis chiptune album he did, and the editor twisted h

Just hiding how many jerks a company has until after the interview process is complete is not effectively any better - it could even be worse for people, as they could have had signal to avoid the jerk. The absence of evidence of some behav

Not sure what you’re reading, but it said nothing about requiring a license - what the person said was very different than the definition cited. In fact, the obsession over the license part clearly misses the mark. This is what the summary

Did you even check the link? The Wikipedia article has a definition of a professional engineer right in there, and what you said did not agree with it at all.

At this point, I think Flow clearly has a minority mindshare & is looked at more skeptically all around the JS ecosystem, and maybe even the React ecosystem based on what I see talked around. TS does a much better job integrating with e

For the big labels, most of the money is not going into the costs of making the content itself - most of it is going into marketing, executives, etc. The musicians themselves get a small portion of it. The model faces some threat due to the

I dunno, I had no problem getting into big companies and excepting my current company (a FAANG), I have only worked for small companies in my whole career (almost 5 years of working at small companies). The big things that seem to matter ar

I have had this happen twice to me ever, one being a startup that went on to fail, and the other being Amazon. I now work at a different FAANG. Amazon balked at me asking for $250k minimum total compensation for a position in San Francisco

There are plenty of things one can gauge candidates on via the whiteboard. System design, application design, psuedocoding implementation (or real coding, if necessary - it should be natural flowing from psuedocode to implementation though)

The housing numbers look poorly researched in general. Sunnyvale for example is not that hard to find a 2 bedroom apartment for under $3k - I'm paying $2700 a month myself for one with over 1k sqft and modern appliances.
