I've used it for French and German (and some maintenance practice in Russian). For German it was really the only thing I used and it got me to high A1/low A2. I was able to have decently complex conversations while traveling where

Thanks for posting. I was confused as hell why I couldn't install Axios and I was getting a 404 earlier.

Having lived in most of those cities and in Miami I can say Miami is definitely the most dangerous driving I've seen. And my car insurance company certainly seems to agree.

I am morbidly curious to see how Waymos interact with the Good Vibes Only crazies. Miami is definitely going to be hard mode for self driving.

That's definitely a possible failure mode, but I think it's preferable to having DataProcessingWorker, IngestService, ProcessingService, DataLoader, etc. Because, you eventually end up with all of these names and it's just as

Very cool about ISAAC. I didn't know. As far as how it helps, I was mostly thinking from a dev ergonomics perspective. For things like ROS/mavlink it can sometimes be hard (for me) to think through how all the systems are interact

This reminds me, I've been messing around with Bevy recently and have been wondering if ECS systems might be suited to hardware. On the surface it seems like a good ergonomic fit. Not sure if ECS is a performance/determinism kille

I've heard a similar formulation of "barracks lawyer" from military folks. The dude who gives terrible advice but can use enough legal jargon to make it sound convincing.

I largely agree with the "programming languages are a communication technology [thus critical mass is critical]" bit, we spend more time reading and explaining code than we do writing it. That's why I'm really hopeful fo

Fully recovered. Felt like shit for about a year after from losing so much weight, and being stuck in a room alone for 3 months probably didn’t help much. Wouldn’t be surprised if it broke something that shows up later but so far everything

Oh hey, I had TB. It sucked. I had to be proper quarantined for 3 months, felt like shit for a whole year and a half, and nearly died because I didn't realize I had any symptoms. I thought I was just tired and depressed all the time be

It's not a conspiracy theory. Trump literally tried overturning the last election via fraud and violence. It's incredibly well documented. In any case we're entering the find out phase.

I did do a cursory check. There is a broad consensus that fluoridation is at least not harmful, and that it has good dental outcomes. It is extremely well studied and we have decades of solid natural experiments because advanced nations are

It's one of my favorite movies lol. I don't have super strong feelings on fluoridation one way or the other. Mostly because I'm not a doctor, dentist, or scientist, so my opinion on the matter shouldn't carry much weight

I agree with most other criticisms in the thread about the feasibility of this, but your suggestion is not _totally_ crazy. There are airports where you can land _if_ you give customs a heads up that you'll be flying there from abroad

Looks very cool. Is there any documentation on how it works for communication over a network? I see the remote/swarm section but is there an overview somewhere?

I wonder if we'll ever hit a critical mass of technical literacy where this kind of misunderstanding largely disappears. Ten years ago I would have said yes. Now I think the advances in UX/UIs and the appification of everything ha

Do you have a good way to modify contenteditable divs from the extension? I'm working on one and we're having a hell of a time trying to come up with One Way to do input updates but everyone's contenteditables behave slightly

I am also looking for info on how to work with contenteditable for an extension. So far we've done a mixture of copy/paste and dom manipulation. Each works in some places and not in others. It's very frustrating and there
