For me it isn't about the cost as much as it is that I've tailored my possessions to be what I like. If I have it, it brings value, and I probably like the details enough that it's hard to replace without getting an exact rep

I unwind with about 2-3 hours of BotW each weekend. I'm years behind the gaming community and TotK is still in my backlog, but I don't care. You only get to play through for the first time once and I'm enjoying it immensely.

There is value in having local consistency, which is usually achieved through having rules. The more uniform a code base, the easier it is to breeze around and get stuff done. Naming things is already hard, so having rules around the annoyi

> I hate that forgetting to initialize all fields of a struct does not lead to an error, but will just fill in "zero-values" for those fields. This has bitten me many times, and zero-values are almost never the behavior I want.

To much freedom for Apple to stomach. Apple despises user freedom. Their whole thing is "use what we gave you and be happy for it". They would never tolerate letting users do something like run any app of their own choosing.

This is my favorite part of the whole crypto ecosystem. "It's decentralized! Code is law! I own my wallet!" *proceeds to use third party wallet service that handles 40% of all wallets and then gets mad when they're hacke

"story" is used more abstractly then that. Literary storytelling is one thing, but we also function in daily life by taking in raw information and then distilling it down to a simpler narrative, aka a story. Effective communicatio

Absolutely. The danger is that people will think that AI is thinking and reasoning in a way that they are. But it isn't. It's a glorified template generator, at least for now. Our brains and minds are fat more sophisticated and nu

A lot of things are worth paying for. A lot aren't. The hard thing is knowing which ones are which. You can't see the benefit in advance. A lot of things aren't worth paying for. A lot of software licenses go completely unuse

The good ol' "fine, I'll do it myself". Reluctant leaders are some of the best. They're there to get things done and rarely overstep their area of competence.

Programming is basically expressing your thoughts in extreme detail. The medium you do it through matters to you. Very few other professions are encoding their actual thoughts. Imagine asking a writer to switch dialects. "It's the

Your solution to a supply and demand mismatch is that everyone regulate their demand to match the local supply? Your solution is for a problem that doesn't exist.

The simpler way to explain it is that a traffic is literally just a tax. "Trump imposes an N% tax on goods from X" would be just as accurate but likely get a different reaction from the populace.
