A single debit can result in many credits. A single record can (and will) be lost. Network issue, db issue, etc., some transactions will not make it to the db. With double entry you at least have a chance of reconciling the lost transaction

Thanks for your comment. It just occurred to me that I have an inner voice narrating the text when I am reading in English. This does not happen when I read in my first two languages. This explains why I read slower when I read in English.

It is hard to make any money on teens. Someone has to subsidise a no-fees banking service and once VC money dried up all teen banks evaporated. Besides any kind of banking is hard and too few of the neobanks were prepared for it.
