I have surveyed these, but in general, they simply don't come anywhere close in quality to that of courses offered by edX. An example that readily comes to mind are the courses on manufacturing processes offered by both MITx and NPTEL.

If you are in India, NPTEL courses are a possibility, but I've heard that it can be a hit or a miss depending on the lecturer. You get to write regular assignments, and a proctored exam for a certificate.
