No, that's what the tabs hold-outs have morphed into. Which illustrates the problem with tabs: It's very difficult to get everyone on a team to care about tabs or not care about alignment.

Yeah. New pricing, but not cheaper. Don't get me wrong. It's a fine price to pay for a studio going strong. But there is no way I can use it for starting my side-project indie game.

Agreed. It's also expensive, and support has been lacking. We'd much prefer something we could maintain and fix ourselves.

sigh So, in GameDev, art assets are as important to the final game as code. And is, just as important to be version controlled as code. And sure, you can split it up between many different repositories, and call it modular But you'

Ahh, I see it... Being in the free tier, it also just looks like a feature, I might pull the price/100GB/mo into it's own cell to make it more clear. It is a pricing page afterall.

EC2 and a build script? Are you implying that the parents 1TB of assets are "un-versioned large media"? If so, I'm sorry you are being very dismissive about something you don't fully understand.

Ok, I'll bite. Looks interesting. My first thought, as a gamedev who has been in charge of selecting VCS at multiple studios. 1TB is not a lot, and I would really appreciate clear public pricing terms on data before committing to a VCS

Just because it has integrations, doesn't make it great. LFS is still not great. Doesn't have a lot of backends for instance. And a real locking system is table-stakes for a gamedev VCS

I built/use something similar using S7 scheme inspired by NaughtyDog's use of PLT Scheme/Rackey. I really like that it's easy to embed S7 into a single binary that's easy to build and distribute. Sadly, I mostly bui

Isn't it a bit audacious to assume the parent lives in a suburban home with a yard and drives a car? Many people don't. And it'd often a choice of values and principles. Of which the parent shared theirs.
