'const char* transformSrc_MyExpr(const char* src);' We're the compiler to invoke some function like that at compile time, it would be much more simple. I'm not suggesting this exactally, or even something very similar, b

Discoverability is a bit of a weird metric, if you have very few tabs you don't really need discoverability since you just put the tabs there. So this isn't really strictly worse when you have many tabs.

Sure a better history along with bookmarks and a pile of things could indeed fix my problem. But using tabs also fixes my problem perfectly well.

I often have close to 1000 tabs open (How do I get the count?) I'm also very sensitive to coffee and cannot do more than 2 a day.

My understanding is the instruction set isn't as far removed as you seem to imply, and the huge differences are in programming model/compiler. AVX-512 has many of the primitives required, and ISPC ports the GPU programming model t

With Javascript as an example, it can indeed be used in this fashion, as I expect also Python. But the key difference is the community of CL is this is a standard way of working, and the tools are built around this.

I think more in line with the article, if you found a street-light where 85% of people ran it, there is something wrong with the red-light, and it should be removed.

"Rush hour" is actually a pretty long distribution of time compared to the average length of a person's commute. I imagine just considering commuting, you could likely get close to half the amount of cars required with car-sh

Yeah, so we can spend a long time trying to find a parser generator that can solve all of our problems in the language that we use, which may or may not exist. Or you could just spend the same time to just write the parser. It turns out tha

Pixels/second aren't a very useful metric when speaking about CPU performance. Your comparison seems to show that CPU performance might be much more important than GPU perf for VR. Also, you're correct that GPU's can pla

I don't know why you are getting so much crap. It seems entirely reasonable to me that mailing the games to you is a suitable way to solve this problem. And entirely reasonable to expect said packages to not get lost in transit.

For instance, in the C++ draft standard doc n3690. 17.6.1.3 you get 'The facilities of the C standard Library are provided in 26 additional headers, as shown in Table 15.' '<cassert> <cinttypes> <csignal>

Also, "never use virtual functions" is very different than "don't use virtual functions everywhere" Common wisdom is that virtual function usage in hot loops can become problematic.

Since the entire thing was hot-loadable, how was the game linked, did every function call go through a indirection, or did you potentially re-link the entire program if the new function couldn't fit at the address of the old one?
