Lot of people doing deep work do it on a schedule - and a very hard one at that. It’s based on the creation of habit, instead of relying on luck to be in the zone. The most important thing after all is to show up!

Hey, why don’t you try harder is what I’ve heard all my life. I can’t. I’ve tried. I failed. I lost a lot of things. Made a lot of mistakes due to focusing on the wrong thing at the wrong time (most recently nearly got heavily hurt with a m

Well, every time I heard about the SwiftUI it’s to complain about the hidden complexity and difficulty to debug it. Not so sure it’s a true plus! And it’s only valid on Mac/iOS

Here in Belgium it's quite the opposite: got unlucky with 3 bad meal in a row, was told by customer support that I exceeded some threshold and that they would not refund those (and nothing else for x months). So missing part of the ord

Art degree - joined a friend in 2009 developing my first iOS app in objective C in a rush… it was rewarding, and got a lot of experience building stuff since the in PHP, Python, C, Clojure. I’m not a dev anymore, but it was fun - which gave

I bought it 5 years ago and haven't given them a dime since, and got a lot of new feature since (scripting!). I'd love to have more library, but that's another issue :)

I know lot of small shop owner. They need, by definition, to be at work all day, everyday. They’re all complaining that work is the only place they can meet people, but that it’s hardly a way to have friends and so are losing them. I know a

I'd wager that the original idea here is more akin to a list of task, with some info added on top of it. That's how I see it myself. And yes, I need to have a status. It allows me to warn people outside the dev team if there are a

I honestly despise Confluence. Jira is kind of OK if you don't create overly complex workflow (they will fail) and avoid using it as a documentation tool (it's not versioned, editing tool are lacking, adding content is quite limit

Those costs are never taken into account. It's always the "low" price of licensing/use/dev that is looked at, and then... you have the regret phase. Which never end because "we already invested so much", a

I developed in ObjC till 2016, so my opinion are dated but: - Xcode is an acquired taste. A bit slow and crash prone, but most of my issues came from the frameworks. Completion and linting were good enough and the integration with dtrace

Framework are not needed to test. I've been testing and validating my code way back, in C. Not because I was an early adopter (I'm still not), but because I needed to debug it, so... faster.
