I'm probably misunderstanding because this seems bad faith. Isn't it obvious the government isn't an all seeing god? All regulations are imperfectly written and imperfectly enforced but many seem to have impact. I'm not

Do you use this as your main driver or just to check on things? Just trying to imagine the workflow :) I personally prefer a ~32" 4k screen for main work but I could see the convenience of an iPad to quickly remote in and check on stuf

For me it's been pixel density. The second I can replace my monitor with it and be able to read small text without my eyes hurting I'll buy the nicest one they make. Unfortunately I've been waiting for 10 years now and it sti

A ton of people have mine and no one has ever given anyone shit about it. It's mostly just 'yooooo I didn't realize you were near X' or 'how was Y? I saw it when checking where my buddy was' Dunno maybe someone

It's amazing we don't have a good answer for this yet. For me it happened on its own and I realized I was fine with who I was flaws and all. Yeah I get disappointed in myself or whatever but it was just getting comfortable in my o

To me it seems like an arbitrary number that I'm not even sure how someone could accurately measure it but maybe I've missed something :)

I think this is what you're saying but in different words - larger scale makes people more anonymous which purely benefits selfish behavior (or specifically those who naturally employ it whenever possible). And by stink-eye people who

Ahhh yup that was the obvious thing thanks. I made the mistake of assuming it's not willpower or whatever you want to call it. Basically I know there are lots of things I should be doing for my health but don't for whatever reason

What is rare? How is this measured? Why do incentives result in perceived malicious actions rather than just malicious actions or minor malicious actions? On top of this no one has said corporations are filled with evil people.

I agree. It seems to be an all too common example of both: 1. lack of nuance in thought (i.e. either assume good intentions or assume malice, not some probability of either, or a scale of malice) 2. the overwhelming prevalence of bad faith

I'm confused how is setting an alarm not simple? It will wake you up. Equivalents for sleeping are things like head trauma and drugs. Is the argument the alarm can just be ignored? But even in that case up your alarm game. Lol I must

I'm surprised the answer of doing all exercises (including essay writing) in class is apparently not obvious. High school me was a moron and should not be trusted to do the real work and people who know better should force him to pract

I might not remember well but I thought the App Store on windows phone was super lacking and actively falling further behind despite a bunch of efforts to prop it up. Not commenting on if the phones were good / used I never had one :)

CS will define, design and implement human level intelligence before neuroscience has done even the first. That's what I hear when people say stuff like this anyway. Similar to CS folks throwing around physics 'theories'
