Thankyou for replying, but I feel you are reinforcing the dichotomy I described: you are saying because it is effective in one dimension (eg. reducing deaths), we should live with any inadequacies. There is certainly an incentive to make

Why is there a false dichotomy that it's the vaccine or nothing? Why can't there just be a better vaccine. What incentive do pharma companies even have to make a better vaccine, rather than one that is just "good enough&qu

Yes it is the same spike protein, but in a limited dose. I guess the prevailing wisdom is that the dose makes the poison and a little bit of spike protein damage is acceptable compared to a much bigger amount from actual infection and disea

re: No disk checking tool (fsck) - you didn't mention the "zpool scrub" command. Also the IOPS of RAIDZ is, as you said, about the same as a single disk - but only for writes. For reads, it scales fairly linearly like a RAI

Having time travel capabilities (eg. cockroachdb) is a really useful side effect of MVCC though. Postgres once had this capability. Need for garbage collection/vacuuming is a downside. I think it all depends on the pattern of reads, wr

I needed a new vehicle earlier in the year, and the forums suggested I'd be waiting several months. Instead, I used a commercial broker. Didn't get to choose the colour, but one arrived (to my doorstep) in 2 weeks. So it seems j

Up to 1000mg once per day now, but had to work up slowly over a couple of months, as I wasn't able to tolerate even 10mg at first. You need the "flushing" type of nicotinic acid (it causes your skin to go hot and red for abou

Sorry about that. It isn't really anything to do with the vaccines. It is simply something that may help others, since some unfortunate few (very small %) are even getting "long covid" from just the vaccine alone. Niacin ap
