Me too! I just picked off a couple of ticks this evening after woodland mushroom picking. My region is endemic for Lyme disease. I'm not concerned because the tick must be attached for 36-48 hours for Lyme disease to vector. Wash cloth

The Daily Mail is neither fake news, nor propaganda, nor a content farm. These are ludicrous suggestions. It's an unpleasant sensationalist tabloid, but it abides by the UK press standards authority. There are equivalents in every west

This is an absurd comment. The rule of law works in the USA as much as it does in other developed countries. There is no such thing as "too large to take on". I note though that there is not yet any evidence of a crime having been

Daily Mail is a bad newspaper but it's nowhere near being "world's absolute shoddiest sensationalist tabloids". If you don't live in the UK then I think you have no idea how bad many newspapers are in other countrie

Bad. Wait 5 seconds between clicks to see a photo with everything whizzing about the screen giving you motion sickness. It's technically slick, but the number of people who will use it actually view lots of photos is basically zero, be

Me too. I've had to start using DuckDuckGo, NOT for privacy reasons, but it get around Google's lunatic forced geolocated search.

"It's fairly established the NSA has everything tapped and collecting/storing all traffic." That's nonsense though. Even a basic understanding of internet technology would show that such a thing is impossible.

There are plenty of outer-fringe places on the Internet where this could be posted such as the politics section of Reddit. Hope this low density stuff stays off HackerNews.

Search on this page for the word "fraud". Here's what I'd do in your position: remove anything on the internet which personally identifies you as an employee of your company. Nobody knows what is going to happen next, bu

I think this "growth hacking" will spectacularly backfire and destroy the company. It's 2018, this stuff doesn't fly anymore. And as the tweeter pointed out, it's breaks the GDPR in Europe. Disaster.

Sorry your comment has been downvoted to grey. Indeed, the headline is nonsense, payment of tax will continue to be in USD. This is a very silly headline and it's embarrassing seeing it being upvoted on HackerNews.

Racism! Stong word, but this is what the Swedish cashless society is: indirect racism. Those at the margins of society are excluded from participating in society because they don't have Swedish bank accounts or Swedish credit cards. Ma

It's astonishing that it's as simple as CATting a zip file to the end of a jpg. I feel there are consequences here for any website that accepts image uploads.

If 10% of the members of my website request a GDPR, then my website will no longer exist. The processing time for that would be a decade.

That's supernice for you in supernice Denmark. Now what about all the other EU countries? What about in 5 years time if things become less supernice. 10 years time?

Reminder: you have to legally comply with every letter of the GDPR, not just the TLDR version. Saying "but we implemented the TLDR version" is not a legal defence.

You are transposing your like of certain EU institutions (human rights regulations) and grafting them onto this legislation. This isn't how it works, not least because there has been no case-law yet, so we have no idea how it will be i

You seem to have misunderstood my comment. I was saying that from a legal complience perspective, the notion that the regulatary body is "good-natured" is meaningless. You have to comply with ever letter of the GDPR, you can'

I agree, and there seems to be a lack of conversation around this! Next week could be ground-zero for all sorts of unintended consequences. Especially, a flashmob of GDPR requests could sink a company.
