I get that Microsoft wants to get people to upgrade, but forcing it like this is just plain rude Reality is, there are still driver issues on older hardware (especially laptops) with Windows 10. Some of my friends get random hangs since upg

Play Music always uses HTML5 now, which is why the toggle is not available (but it's indicated badly). You can disable the built-in Flash on chrome://plugins and everything will still work.

I doubt you need to be that smart to learn a second language. Growing up in Belgium we all started learning our second language at age 10 (some earlier), and a third at age 13. Most people (in Flanders) end up leaving high school speaking D

It's what they use to try and detect if your browser is a real browser, not a fake one. Which is very hard to determine without Javascript.

Right, I worded it badly. The performance of ES6 code is more of an issue for people who want to switch from transpilers to running ES6 natively (something that's hard to recommend at this point). ES5 code performing slower because of

https://kpdecker.github.io/six-speed/ is what I based my comment on. It seems to have improved since I last looked and ES6 will probably suffice performance-wise. Things like destructuring, are still 10x slower in Node

A bigger 'issue' for now is that most ES2015 features are (much) slower than their ES5 equivalents. Code transpiled with Babel will usually run quite a bit faster than running ES2015 directly, especially with Babel in loose mode.

Is this so bad? I remember back in 2012 when I visited Berlin I had to register my SIM with my Belgian ID and address too. It only took a few minutes, it's not that much of a hassle. At the phone shop in Belgium where I work we were re

That looks nice until it doesn't work. We regularly see 30 minute event processing when doing flexible upgrades of Droplets (and the same when scaling back down). It's not safe, since the resize isn't guaranteed to be fast an

It is indeed out of control. They have so much stuff in their app that an update takes over 2 minutes to run on Marshmallow on a total high-end device (Snapdragon 810). No other app comes even close to taking that long to precompile for ART

They don't just give the account to random people. It's always people with already some kind of social media presence, and stealing an account as well known as @Sweden is not something someone like that would just do.

Apple's Java 6 uses Quartz for text rendering, which looks really good and is pretty fast. Oracle's Java 7/8 do text rendering in software, which is slow and looks extremely bad on OS X compared to, well, everything else. It

Unfortunately, since you don't have OpenSSL 1.0.2, you are only negotiating HTTP/2 over NPN, which Chrome will drop together with SPDY. To still get Chrome to negotiate HTTP/2 after the SPDY+NPN drop, you will need ALPN. Whic

Nope, it's accurate (and a shame). We've split up our SSL termination for this exact reason. Instead of doing SSL and HTTP/2 on our application servers themselves, we put a box with Debian Stretch in front of it doing just pr

On iOS maybe, but not on Android. You have to reimplement a lot of the things you get for free when developing native apps yourself. Most animations etc, you all have to add it yourself. Problem with that is that the React Native team has s

I do see the point in using HAProxy as a loadbalancer, we use it too (in a different setup without SSL), but in the context of this tutorial it's usage doesn't seem warranted when you're already running Nginx. We've had

This feels overly complex. The tutorial lets HAProxy do the SSL and Nginx the HTTP/2 (without SSL). But Nginx is still set up for HTTPS (that will never be used). Especially since Nginx can perfectly do both. You might as well replace

The larger issue is that together with SPDY support they will also drop NPN in favour of ALPN. This means that to provide HTTP/2, server administrators will not only need a new version of Nginx (or their favourite webserver), but also
