Some of the policies you benefited are from a zero sum game, so your gain is someone else's loss. When you benefit, you turn a blind eye to the negatives (this is the horse blinder reference).

Yes. For me it is a mild alergen, so I can drink coffee a few days in a row but then I take several weeks of break. I drink coffee when I have a change in schedule, like waking up earlier than usual for a few days for some projects.

Private medicine increases the capacity of the system in other countries (including mine). Making a doctor career not attractive is decreasing the capacity of the system and UK is doing that; there used to be a large number of doctors emigr

But that is the definition of democracy, so you are saying it is going to die by design?

Or you can export, like Germany.

They are both the same as in they are both bad, even if in different ways. In my country for more than 20 years people don't vote for a party (and we have more than 2), but they vote against what they see as the worst party. It is nega

California does regulate private individuals that lived in California in the past. It also does regulate private individuals with residence in California and working in a different state. Just saying.

It is a matter of baseline. Comparing to classical liberals (right wing), everyone today is very left. Comparing to Western Europe, that is very left, someone less to the left is relatively to the right, but it does not make it a right-wing

Explain Italian fascism, the very original. Their big boss (not named) was a socialist. Nazis were socialists and current Germany is socialist (not in name, but in behavior). I am not disputing the extreme part, just the right versus left,

What is toleration of fascism? Most people I talked to don't even know what fascism is, but they use the term very liberally. Do you have national-socialists in California?

If you don't prosecute anyone, crime stats fall. Why? Because nobody will care to report crimes knowing they will not be prosecuted.

This is Germany, they made themselves dependent on energy from Russia, why not from China? What can be worse, North Korea?

Bad title. Dropping from extremely expensive to very expensive is NOT crashing. It is still a lot more expensive than DDR4 with no matching performance gains, so it is a false statement. Luna was a crash, not a 20% price reduction.

For any joke you can possibly say, you will find someone that will be offended. Flagging jokes you don't like or don't understand is part of the cancel culture?

Play with the devil, complain when you are hurt. It is no longer news that social media platforms flagging and censorship are broken.

Very valid point, but I don't know how fast you will hit the chipset speed limits; that NIC is connected to the chipset that is connected to the CPU via a 4x PCIe link and from there to the nVME with 4x PCIe link. In theory you have 4

I bought brand new 10 Gbps NICs ($47/pcs) and switch ($120) for less than that and replacements are readily available. The 20m AOC cables were indeed $40. A NAS home build of this size will never exceed 10 Gbps, I barely get ~ 2 Gbps o

I have a couple of home built TrueNAS systems for many years (since FreeNAS, ~ 10 years ago), here is some feedback: - with same disk size, but just 3 disks, I get around 240 MB/sec read speed for large files (with 10 Gbps NIC). I gues

If time and cost are factored versus a low-cost flight, there is very little economic sense for this option. If you take in consideration the shit-show that is airport experience, then short trips by train become interesting, but only up to
