Interesting, I guess for me it's hard to tell how strong "remote" relationships really are. Fortunately, I'm more articulate / interesting in my writing than when people talk to me. But "being accountable&quo

Yeah, the most depressing part of this is that I'm even jealous of the social camaraderie my finance roommate talks about having with the other analysts he spends late office nights with. At least he has the option of an office and pe

The tough thing with these laws is that the direction is clearly positive, yet it seems to just harm anyone doing remote work in CO. Hopefully they don't have to wait for the tax base to erode before making adjustments to the law or w

The price of construction matters considerably whether you're planning on building mass market apartments or condominiums. Most cities have explicitly different building codes based on the intended use of the dwellings, interestingly

Agreed, I'm a solidly above average engineer. However, even as interview loops have been easier I still worry that for my age / YOE I'd be leaving valuable money on the table to go and try to start a business that at best wo

I think the bigger numbers game is guessing when you'll be both experienced enough and risk tolerant enough to make the leap. At 23 I sure as hell didn't know enough to start a company, led alone code a product end to end. At 27

I have a decent backstop and quite frankly I still have a relatively middle of the road risk tolerance. I've done one startup and quite frankly just grinding and doing stuff I like is starting to sound like a much better route as I&#x

Good luck with that haha. It's weird, it took two years, but at this point I can't really imagine having to be in an office for more than three days a week. Granted, if I had a FAANG tier salary I'd stop complaining.

Yep, I distinctly remember the last time I had to use a Microsoft Office product and have genuinely enjoyed not using windows since I don't play video games anymore. Occasionally I plug in my SSD with windows to edit video with Adobe

The worst new trend I've seen is a "soft offer" prior to the final round interview. These are also usually way out of alignment with the role / other teams. Not willing to name and shame here - but it's annoying a

I'm not exactly social but I have nearly a dozen friends within 5-10 minutes of where I currently live. We all work full-time and also don't drink and easily see each other 1-2 times per week, sometimes we do more involved trips
