This is valuable for corporate software engineers working on giant systems. But what about non-corporate software engineers? What about web developers? The interview process is very different depending on the company.

If you hate it, it's probably because it's different . You'll get used to it. It's similar to how every time a company re-designs their logo, there's always a huge backlash solely because it's change, and peop

I do use it for other sites as well, like news sites. You can freeze any site for a specified period of time. It definitely makes me use the sites less frequently.

A lot of the most useful software I've made for myself has been browser extensions. Spend too much time on Hacker News? I made an extension to freeze the front page so it updates once every 6 hours. Spend too much time on Reddit? I mad

Yeah. YouTube's algorithm does a really great job of stopping me from watching too much YouTube. For me it's a lot of videos I've either already seen, am not interested but continually get recommended, or are just short, low

Well, for one we don't do visual design professionally for a living, we write code. Second, I think we're much more focused on getting the software to work in the most logical way possible, which means not having any unnecessary e

Probably a coincidence. /r/antiwork is wildly popular on Reddit, which is an American social media platform. The sentiment is shared across apps.

If it's a really great idea, it will stick around in your head. If it needs to be written down, it's probably not a very good idea. Check out Stephen King's take on this: https://youtu.be/lwhOd65gGoY?t=30

I use Serverless with Lambda. It's even a template in Serverless, so with the CLI you just type `serverless` and select the Node.js/Python Scheduled Task template and everything is set up for you. I do a lot of web scraping, and L

Illegal dark web markets use BTC as currency. The BTC entering and exiting these markets is highly tumbled, making it very hard to track.

Even if all the exchanges go down, I would be surprised if BTC completely crashed. It's still highly useful for buying illegal drugs, and for money laundering. If you notice, whenever there are crypto crashes, the BTC value after every

I like Stephen King's advice. He says he doesn't keep a writer's notebook, because that's where you can immortalize bad ideas. The good ideas stick around in your head, and that's what he decides to work on. So, spe

I have made my money online by specifically not trying to make money. I only work on things I'm interested in, have experience with, or am good at, and the money comes afterward. In terms of finding project ideas, perhaps try looking b

One thing you have to consider is how context plays a very important role in your job. AI does not have the context of your job/codebase and therefore can only do very small tasks that have probably already been done before (e.g. "

I find this kind of writing so unbelievably annoying, it's unreadable. People who write as though not only can they predict the future, but they're so arrogantly certain of it that they write long, scary sounding articles about it

Crypto isn't actually an investment in anything. It's just speculation. With crypto you're not investing in anything that will produce a positive cash flow. Bonds and the stock market actually produce cash flow.
