For graphic design, it's a lot about visual experimentation and presentation. With programming, it's engineering a functional solution. Both solve business problems. I guess it's the difference between the person who builds b

This guy isn't a writer. He's an entrepreneur. He wants to be a writer because it has a social aura to it, it's a sexy career. But that doesn't mean he has the true mindset of a writer. At the end of the day he thinks li

Someone should write the equivalent for beer. Maybe my palate isn't very advanced, but I do not like fancy beer. I only like cheap beer. Same with coffee. Same with most food. Not sure if it was my steady diet of microwave dinners grow

I used to be a Tailwind hater. I couldn't fathom why anyone would ever use it. And then I used it. It seriously makes CSS significantly easier to maintain, dramatically reduces your CSS build size, and is really good for teams if you&#

JSX templating engine for Node. This isn't necessarily all that difficult to make since Babel can already transform JSX for you. I just want to use JSX as only a templating engine, not with React. I'd use it with Express and Alpin

Yes, but not everyone has the talent to learn quickly, get good enough to get a job, and to keep that job. I'll give a metaphor. I always wanted to learn how to kickflip as a kid, but I sucked at skateboarding. It took me 10 years, man

I've been testing out Alpine.js recently and find it to be very nice to use. You can have reactive state and most of the conveniences of React, but all in your HTML without a build step. I work with SSR React professionally and many ti

One day I hope PHP will come up with a more user friendly template literal system. I love the javascript template literal system since single quotes and double quotes are all fine, and you can add variables, ternaries, and even functions in

It would be better if Javascript had Array.empty() instead of comparing array length. It would make things even more explicit and more convenient.

It's interesting to me how trendy "diversity" is these days, and it's always in the context of race. It's interesting how we don't ever think of diversity in terms of class, wealth, disability, etc. An Ivy Leag
