And after they had their share of that life style they start writing books and blogs on what is the meaning of life.

Yes. This is a major problem. Shit in shit out. I'd love to revist a lot of songs if someone would be able and willing to master them skillfully. Low dynamic range is the main culprit here. Too low bite rate can show in some few cases.

Thank you. Work life is very irrational. Good one to describe work hours as proxies.

Be assured I condemn violence of all sorts. My question still stands how such decisions are made?

I try to understand how this decision came to be and I have no idea? A standardised set of rules would surely lead to many many more pages being taking down. And why now and not last week?

All would be fine for me if MS would fully integrate key rebindings. No chance in my business environment to install extra software. I could balance the use of both hands better if I can have the return key also on the left side or rebind R

I like proper key travel. These flat designs irritate me. That leaves mechanical or Topre boards. Due to nice feedback, proper key travel and good profile I manage only few typos.

I was never forced. I was given the opportunity. I can give no reasoning for this but I would say it taught me to conentrate but still to let it flow from my fingers at the same time. Performing in a relaxed state of mind. Also playing live

I never learned touch typing. I am a free floater myself. Rather trying to split the load evenly between my hands. Touch typing position puts a strain on my wrist. Incidentally I also own a Topre board. I also have my trackball to the left

Advertising should not be a valid reason to collect my data. Collecting the data should be illegal in the first place.

Was in my early twenties when I started to play the guitar. In hindsight I consider this as one of the best decisions in my life.

Horrible headline. Article itself not much better. Even if Russia literally saves lives this shortsighted bashing goes on and on and on... This vaccine is a great achievement.

Trackball for 20 years now exclusively. I like it. Can imagine it is a little unstable. It's rather high. I like the idea to have the keys separate from the trackball. Drag and drop for example can put some strain on my wrist.

Budgets don't support anyone getting the job done. It's a business metric and serves as a halting line, early warning, decision taking line... whatsover. I dislike the KPI mindset. I prefer common sense, understanding what's

Comes up more often lately. I do have an issue with organizing myself. Scheduling more than a week ahead is close to impossible. Not due to my job but due to my messy mind. Same with note taking. Has gotten worse and I even tried learning E

I love how Marlowe popped up on HN. Very attached and at the same time detached character. I like the noir style desperation in these book. Also like to drop Lew Archer here. 'The Ivory Grin' is so depressing it is sometimes hard

Understanding a problem does not mean the solution to the problem is understood as well. The one is analytics and hacking a problem to pieces. I know so many who are excellent at that. The other is synthesis and making a viable solution fro

I would like to have a simple an clean HUD. No flashy warnings. And I would like to have a lot of knobs and dials. Not a friend of touch screens in a car at all.

I can witness workaholism around me. In most cases an absolute waste of life time and that makes it even worse to me. Oftentimes low impact and low priority work. It doesn't makes sense to me. Often tried to reach out to my colleagues

Oh well... I am on 15kg coffee beans per year right now. This is quite a lot, I guess. Prepared as filter coffee and mostly before lunch and then one cup right after lunch. Late in the afternoon it would impact my sleep. So I leave it.

1.76 days idle? I'd call that impossible. How can you be busy the whole waking time? Sounds like burn out is creeping in. Idle is my most important state of mind. Daydreaming. Suddenly some ideas pop into my mind. It is almost Zen like

Can't remember a single company where anyone was willing to write or read beyond some (shitty) slides. I am sick of management by slides. Leadership needs to know their experts and whom to follow when and then trust them to get the job

Foe the sake of argument I put it rather bluntly: I don't think this happened by accident but on purpose. There is simply no way to end up in a situation where you use forced labor by accident. Poverty and forced labor are just the oth

In the end waiting and doing nothing cannot be distinguished. Late is late. Haven't seen any actions except lock down. So I interpret it as doing nothing.

This is a success story. It is not covered in German main stream media. Question is why? My guess is it shows an alterantive and successful and cheap way to deal with Covid. While the rest of Germany (and Europe) only saw the lock down as a
