Stripe doesn't owe anyone the right to use their services. Just as an airline can bar anyone for most any reason (unless that reason is membership in a protected class[0]), Stripe can do the same.

I remember working on a simple peer-peer chat using WebRTC [1] and it took me a long time to actually grok what the whole protocol was and how it worked, even with off-the-shelf libraries available. This would have saved me so much time! [1

A large chunk of the arguments tend to assume Proof of Work as the consensus mechanism which isn't a flaw inherent in blockchain (eg. could have Proof of Stake, etc.)

The waste of electricity/mining gear is mostly due to Proof of Work consensus, but moving to Proof of Stake/other consensus algorithms will eliminate basically all waste (eg. Ethereum is moving to PoS).
