That’s exactly what I took out of it. Prices are gonna go up. But not for everybody, the crappy tier will remain affordable but 4k in 2023 will require the top tier.

Huh, I’m not really tracking UNIX releases anymore but I thought that 14.0 has been out for a while. My pfSense router has been claiming to run on 14.0 since may 2023: > 23.05.1-RELEASE (amd64) > built on Wed Jun 28 03:57:27 UTC 2023

There’s usually a way to keep the fine off your record unless you speed too much. Some online defensive driving or similar.

$50 for going 11mph+ (and more if going faster) I wonder what are the actual fines going to look like. We also have these “$50” HOV lane violation fines in Texas. And the “$50 fine” turns into $275 out of the door. Just to clarify, I’m pure

I wish there was some other way. It’s all one huge monopoly and nowhere else to go. So people have no choice other than bending over and getting f’d. Some say to go with MVNO but I haven’t found one that would check all the boxes for me. T

Interesting, I’m curious how the OS is assembled together, since they discourage users from in-place upgrade. Debian 11 was just a regular Debian with their repos added on top. It feels like since the times of Raspbian they are trying to th

I’m going to identify as California resident more than usual. /s Cali has some decent laws when it comes to consumer protection. I’d love to see more of them on federal level.

I know it may sound silly but the need for active cooling is a deal breaker to me. I’m still hoping to see some massive heat sink or a metal case that acts as a heat sink. But the overall Pi evolution leads towards hotter, louder and more e

It’s nice they doubled the speed of SD controller but I still wish they just gave us some eMMC for the system.

1L compact cars were not uncommon in Europe 10-15 years ago. Consumption was about 5L/100km (about 47mpg). Now they are being replaced with hybrids and electric versions. Example: (German) Opel Corsa 1.0 3-cyl https://en.wi

Doesn’t look unreasonable considering it’s paid hourly and seems to be aimed as emergency response to get up and running asap.

As a biased Prusa MK4 owner, I see them as Genesis. Way better than Ender, but at the end of the day, it’s still just a rebranded Hyundai with luxury finish.

For me, it’s the modularity. No matter what breaks, you can get a replacement part fairly quick and cheap. It’s relatively easy to take apart and build it back yourself. You can even re-print your plastic components yourself. I personally

BambooLab forked and “rebranded” PrusaSlicer (in a not so cool way) https://twitter.com/josefprusa/status/1542259514828791811?la... Their new printer features seem to match pretty closely with Prusa updates. Looks

Mandatory phone number has become the latest plague. Not only the phone number is mandatory but many sites now pretend to 2FA without user enabling the setting - or even worse, don’t use password and only send codes via SMS.

My current setup allows me to use the TV built in speakers (Sony TV and SoundBar). It’s absolutely awful. The built in speaker sounds like a speaker sealed in cheap plastic box. It only degrades the experience. I turned it off.

My 14 Pro is at 94%. It was purchased on day 1 availability last year. I charge it daily (overnight). I haven’t noticed those 6% degradation in real life. Actually, since 13Pro, I noticed my phone could last almost two full days.

I agree. Each paragraph is formatted in the same way GPT responds. Covering a whole lot of topics without going deeper into a single one. All just general summarizations. And the recap at the end.. so obvious.
