Looks good at first glance. What are the auth options? In an enterprisey context SSO can be quite important, and I feel like a lot of hosted apps could really benefit from some form of Active Directory integration.

Who knows! That's my struggle with security, unless you have good monitoring in place it's not even trivial to notice problems. In my case I was only made aware of the compromised VM because my hosting provider sent me very stern

Yeah, my thought is that I've had a great time just dumping most data into a `jsonb` column. You can then extract fields into their own columns over time, as you learn more about your domain. JSON support is pretty excellent.

So this is cool, and can serve as a good cheatsheet for beginners. However, the question where I struggled the most: how the hell do I set up a secure Postgres instance on some cloud VM or server? (I _really_ love those 2.50 bucks per month

The tooling situation has rapidly improved in my opinion, nowadays ghcide [0] (a language server implementation) is really great and easy to set up. I really do hope that not too many people feel like the message is "keep out". In

This is great, your long answer is much appreciated! Definitely a lot to digest, so I look forward to trying out some apps and workflows. I'm happy to connect via twitter, and if you need a beta tester for any eventual blogpost, then I

Thanks for this detailed reply. It so happens that I just bought an iPad for the purpose of jamming and learning how to use synths, so I'm very excited to try out some of the apps you mentioned. Can you recommend where to start? I.e a

Lol, I guess this should be the first answer of the thread. But also, at that point you're fully committed to security through obscurity, so folks should get at least the obscurity part right :)

Great answer, thank you. I agree with your point about testing the restore process, right now I'm trying to think of a way to automate it. As a side note: for example we had some backups that are probably useless, because they are way

This is an amazing answer, thank you for sharing :) I wish you the energy to keep trying to change this, don't let it get to you too much, I know this stuff can be frustrating as hell.

Oh, that's super cool! I'm even more excited for your project in that case. I hope I can make the time to build a prototype, right now I'm doing the same for retool, and I feel very spoiled for good choices all of a sudden wh

Love it, used it, mildly dislike the pricing. But generally I'm of the opinion that auth tightly integrated into the platform has a lot of advantages. My dream is to avoid (almost) all glue between my components, I think Firebase becam

This looks great, however at first peek it doesn't mention anything about auth. Do you have any plans for that? For me this is the topic I most want to just delegate to the service. Dashboard, realtime stuff, etc are great too. RESTful

For personal use they are a bit overkill, but only if your cheaper tools don't break after 3 years. The professionals I know generally all use a couple expensive tools from Hiltl or Festool etc over time. They can justify a new machine

I'm generally interested in this, but (even as somebody who knows intermediate Haskell), I don't have a good intuition about the scope of dependent types: - how much of the burden of writing the proof falls on me, and how much fal

How do the both of you make graphviz diagrams look decent? I often resign myself to using it for generating the first structure, and then laying it out better in an svg editor. Of course that way I lose some of the maintainability of it.

I wrote a tool to help you rename and move those 200 pdfs out of that unholy mess that you call your download folder. You know, all those papers you keep downloading to "read them once you get around to it".
