I don't understand what you mean by push/pull in this context. Aren't I pulling content through a VPN or TOR exit node? Pulling content through my ISP? > expecting that no IPFS gateway operator will try to contest the DMCA

Ehh... Does it make sense in the same way that TOR exit nodes are liable for everything on TOR, or that VPN providers are liable for everything that is downloaded via the VPN or that the ISP is liable for everything that its users download?

Yes for Python it seems to sit between a blurry midpoint of "just use Poetry!" and "just use a container!", but I can see it potentially being useful for a batteries-included devenv in more niche applications like Julia,

It seems more approachable than going down the NixOS rabbit hole. I haven't had a need to reach for it yet, but I will probably try it out at some point.

It's a lot older but I would say Vagrant intersects with this space https://github.com/hashicorp/vagrant Possibly devenv, as well.. Though I haven't personally tried it https://devenv.sh/

I think it's more accurate to say that there simply is no wall space, because the walls ARE the stones. There are ways around it, probably using copious amounts of conduit etc. but it's a lot of work compared to simply living some

I thought so too but it also reads like perhaps English is not the first language of the developer. Nuances of how perfect can mean "a really nice experience" vs. "our implementation has no flaws" might not be so obvious

It used to be like clockwork that a Wikipedia article would be submitted to HN shortly after Radiolab covered the same or a closely related topic. I've also had similar déjà vu moments where something I had only just read about would b

I think you can take it the other way as well... > Any sufficiently advanced malice is indistinguishable from incompetence If anything, an advanced malicious actor might even be counting on you thinking they're incompetent.

The story sounds fake or embellished to me. What "world" was this drone operating in? A flight sim world? Are the communications in this simulated world really laid out such that taking out a control tower would disrupt communicat

Seeing the submarine cable maps for Hawaii can be a bit misleading. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the fibre capacity simply bounces through Hawaii and isn't trivial for the islands to hook into. I don't believe Hawaii itself

Of course this is completely anecdotal, but I was walking around a zoo in a city I'm visiting today and couldn't help but notice how much noisier the zoo was, both in terms of how much traffic and city noise breaches the walls, an

I'm not sure if it's the point GP is trying to make, but I would like to see GPUs with extra VRAM that don't have the extra compute. eg. similar performance of a 4070Ti but with 24GB or 32GB of VRAM. I don't see a really
