Wow, just wow. SEO as if it were good for the people who are on the web. Google as if it were a shadowy govt agency run by a secret cabal to rule the world. Frankly, I am surprised at so many SEO spammers participating on HN in this thread

Yes, I'm referring to the GPS on the iPhone. Of course it's ultimately a software limitation, but from the consumer/non-jailbroken point of view, it's baked into the product. No app can override it.

I think old RVs are flimsy and poorly insulated, and good ones hold their value and can still be used as vehicles. The idea of recycling shipping containers is really just a designer's dream--you only ever see new-looking containers in

I think this offline-first approach is very interesting, and definitely something that is overlooked in UI and app design. The OP is correct about telco and wifi signals being far from total coverage. There are lots of "holes" and

It's funny how GrinningFool seems to be associating "online" apps with cloud-based services (Google docs, dropbox, etc.) and thus equating offline with their pre-cloud iterations. I think the OP's intent applies to every

This too is the future: no apps will be global, but multiple fairly similar apps will carve out geographic niches, some larger than others. I can't really say which app should be valued more, but I would tend to think the one with the
