There's a tradeoff, a high inital cognitive load for people learning the language vs the long term pay off of less bugs in production. There are plenty of people who have spent time learning rust but haven't had a chance to use it

I know a little about Coinbase. The CEO did the initial MVC with ruby on rails. He was somewhat technical so it was a natural choice. Then they moved forward with ruby for the whole platform, maybe as that's what he understood and what

Personally I prefer to write the CSS (well Sass really). I've mainly used Bootstrap in the past. I've moved on though, I learned flexbox and css grid and some atomic design principals as well as ABEM ( https://css-tricks

What's the performance like with compiled languages? I'm using rust and compiling in containers always seems slow.

That's good advice. You can direct the conversation to pains they may have that your solution/product solves, but essentially a salesperson is there to identify pain.

Would need to see the git repo. I could only find this https://github.com/studip/studip-gsoc2013 If this is an example of the code base then it doens't look too bad in terms of layout. BUT before a re-write/r

We use a blue/green strategy but our infrastructure can be created on demand with Pulumi. https://www.pulumi.com/ It takes Pulumi about 15 minutes to create our kubernetes cluster with all pods and monitoring in place.

It's a nice marketing twist, Libra but not managed by Facebook. Not sure that will be enough though. Looming at the repo this is implemented in Rust, along with Libra itself. Nice to see Rust being used on a big oroject like this.

It would be great if they could get this into production. I like the idea of having the rear mech covered up form the elements.

Java doesn't come with a package manager out of the box so most projects seem to go with Maven. If you've tried to understand a project with multiple pom.xml's then for me putting it in the con is a good call.

Difficult. Probably I would fail your interview but on the job I've been told I'm a natural leader. I have a very deep understanding of my domain. Maybe that helps.

There are a few opportunities for code generation here. The server.rs looks like an implementation of RPC over websockets. So a refactoring might be to model the interface using something like https://grpc.io/ or any other

In a way these are not life changing events. Whether I travel coach or by private jet is largely irrelevant to me. A bigger impact on your life would be any of the following. - Your health and exercide. - The strength of your relationships.
