Ok. What happens when the 3rd party service is acquired and shuts down, or shuts down due to lack of funds? I've got several machines that have been running non-stop for 3-5 years, and I've had several services I've relied on that have shut

This is the perfect example of something that could be run on an always-connected, dual-core Atom machine (~$200) sitting in one's office. I don't understand the insistence on using a paid monthly service for something so simple. My crappy

My understanding is that NCR provided a service to Blockbuster (which simply branded it, and provided the consumer relationship, aka took payments). DISH Network is now the owner of Blockbuster, and I don't think they are the only consume-f

Whatever this data dump from FB consists of, is it in some usable form? My understanding is that it's a pdf without any ability to import it into any other software. For example, can you import birthdays directly into iCal (or w/e) or impo

By the looks of it (from the perspective of people not involved in the support industry), you appear to have a problem with the company for making a name change, which seems petty (going by the comments here, and my own thoughts after readi

Personally, I use Chromium for the sites that I'm logged into, and Firefox for general browsing and searching. I'm not sure if that would work for you, but it seems it would work with your work-flow as you've described it.

Just to be clear, commercial copyright infringement (i.e. for profit) is criminal, personal copyright infringement (i.e. you download it and watch it) is civil.

If you know you are going to use Comcast for a year or more, it is cheaper (or break-even) to buy your own modem. Amazon has the Motorola surfboards (SB6120 and SB6121) for $75 and $85, respectively (vs. $7/mo *12mo=$84).
