Anything that costs money is 'regressive' if you use your definition. Sure, we could means test every toll and fee, but there's a different solution for that already - taxation. There's a secret third option to congestio

Depends on how long you're doing it. For a Divide length race, you're going to need more than 4 hours a night. 5 would be sustainable. 4 would work for events 3-5 days long I think.

Take the time and do it now as well. Having gotten into it, I wish I'd spent every gap in school and employment out in the world, on a bike. It's too precious an experience to leave for later.

Not to get too deep into it, but calling out Israel for war crimes isn't anti-Israel anymore than being against the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 is Anti-American. Re: the main issue - Worldwide, there are other nations and intelligence

It's best practice for certain weeds e.g. morning glory, where breaking the vine tends to just spread it, and digging it up flat out does not work - you'll be at it for years. Here's King County's factsheet for morning g

If the expense is an issue, try a used one. My cycle computer was released several years ago (wahoo wfcc4 (2019)) and is still great.

Not to mention, phones overheat in direct sun and stop working. Phones' capacitive touchscreens are also completely unusable in rain, contrast to the physical controls on a cycle computer. Cycle computers are much lighter than phones g

It's tempting to think that phones can do everything, and they sort of can, but not well. There's a time and place for dedicated hardware, and cycle computers are very firmly in that category, aside from very casual usage.

I feel that this sort of autonomous agent co-optimization may happen more often over time as humans step farther away from the loop, and lead to some pretty weird outcomes with nobody around to go "wait what the f---- are we doing?&quo

The micro plastics people really need to link up with the urbanism people - having kilos of tire dust shredded on your doorstep isn't a necessary condition of living in a city, it's a result of how (at least in the US) car depende
