Did they fix the thing where you have to wait like 2 seconds for the context menu to open up when you want to paste something? Does anyone else notice that you tap on the screen and it takes literally 3 full seconds for the little pop-up where you can press the paste button to appear,
- seemaze 17d agoEverything in 26 takes longer with all the bs easing that got drizzled over the interface.
- lgrebe 17d agoIve switched to “reduced motion” in accessibility settings and it’s gone
- ManuelKiessling 17d agoThe problem with this is that iirc, this also signals to web pages that you do not like a lot of motion, which IS a nice UX enhancer for some pages, but might supress animations from (auto)playing where it's not what you want because the animations are the reasons you're visiting that page.
- lukeholder 17d agoProbably continuity network slowness. Universal Clipboard is probably seeing if your other device just added something to the clipboard.
- isodev 17d agoThe question is if Apple fixed that and I don't think they have.
- jotato 17d agoOh my! That solved it! Thank you so much!
- ragazzina 17d agoHow is it solved? You can't disable the clipboard sync, only disable handoff altogether.
- crossroadsguy 17d agoi think that was sarcastic or should have been sarcastic :D
- jotato 17d ago100% not sarcastic. I disabled all continuity options and the annoying delay to bring up the context menu is gone. My phone is my only apple product. I don't need it.
- Melatonic 17d agoWhere is that setting ? Can only find continuity related to AirPlay Edit: Disabled everything on "Continuity and AirPlay" as well. Guessing it might be the "Handoff" setting. Not sure that the menu pops up any faster though
- jotato 17d agoYeah, it was "handoff". It was always taking a long second or two before it would open. Now it is instant /shrug
- Melatonic 17d agoSo after disabling this I realised since I only have an iPhone (and no Mac or other Apple devices) I should disable anything and everything in the settings that syncs stuff between devices. There was also one about the Focus options (like Do Not Disturb) and some other ones. I figure this can only simplify everything and speed up the phone if it never has to check for any (non existent) device to sync settings against. Still have all my local phone settings backing up to iCloud
- neuralkoi 17d agoYou think that's ridiculous, try sharing a video on WhatsApp that's longer than a minute. See how "easy" that process is, especially if you walk away from your phone while it's "processing" or "preparing" the video.
