Americans have zero muscle to stand up for the people who actually care for this country.
- ikiris 2mo agoA significant portion probably support it.
- blooalien 2mo ago> A significant portion probably support it. The truly terrifying thing is that entirely too many actually do cheer this madness on (and far worse). It's almost as if we've learned absolutely nothing from the mistakes of history (except maybe how to repeat them, only "bigger and better"). I guess we're gettin' a Dystopia, whether we want one or not...
- zombot 2mo agoWhat do you mean by "it"?

- throwaway27448 2mo agoSee? This comment is precisely what building a state around voters who care more about aesthetics than semantics looks like.

- t-writescode 2mo agoCringe is too powerful of an anti-motivator. Reminds me of when people wouldn’t listen to others because they had tattoos.

- t-writescode 2mo agoWhy? They went to medical school and passed all the exams. Maybe they just like art.

- usernomdeguerre 2mo agoAgreed, too many people are willing to thought-terminate when the messenger doesn't fit their ideal. It's why propaganda groups signal boost bad faith or poor arguments (and argumentors), to inflict this sort of self-righteous ennui.
- what 2mo agoPeople with tattoos have bad taste and poor judgement.
- defrost 2mo agoCount Binface has a Classics degree and a Real Job as a scriptwriter and speechwriter.
- mlrtime 2mo agoWhat muscle and who "actually care", can you expand on what you're proposing?
- arvid-lind 2mo ago> account named throwaway* lobs weak rage bait I don't think they're actually proposing anything.

- nozzlegear 2mo agoWhy would we throw away our institutions after just a term and a half of a bad president? We haven't even made it to the midterms yet, where Trump and the Republicans look pretty likely to eat shit. Calling for assassinations and riots is entirely reactionary.
- inigyou 2mo agoWhat institutions are left?
- nozzlegear 2mo agoElections, to start with.
- inigyou 2mo agoNorth Korea has elections.
- mlrtime 2mo agoAll of the ones that matter, just because the current president doesn't fit your ideals, doesn't mean society is collapsing. All the doom-gloom feelings does not change that objectively and statistically the US and world is better off now that anytime in the past over long periods of time.
