Zuckerberg's superyacht ignored emergency channel, failed to aid stranded boat
- killingtime74 3mo agoWould have been easy for them to help out given Zuckerberg wasn't even on board. At least the support ship could have
- HackerThemAll 3mo agoI think the captain of that vessel has his ego even bigger than Zuckerberg himself.
- antonvs 3mo agoWhen Zuck’s not on board, that ship is effectively his. I bet he stands at the bow yelling “I’m the king of the world!”
- feverzsj 3mo agoThat's exactly how/why the rich is framed in Hollywood movies.
- hollow-moe 3mo agoWe don't want peasants to put dirt on the bridge eww
- m4rtink 3mo agoKarma is a thing & it gets back to you with interest.
- fragmede 3mo agoNo it isn't. Epstein died without having to pay a cent. If you believe in something after then he's paying the price, but if you don't, you can't believe in karma.
- longitudinal93 3mo agoKarma works across multiple lifetimes. GE isn't done yet.
- porksoda 3mo agoWasn't he murdered in prison while the howling mob hated him and sent his lady to eat unflavoured tofu? I mean sometimes karma could do better but it ain't nothin
- b3ing 3mo agoVessel and crew should be banned from sailing , not sure if it’s possible to do that though
- edyos 3mo agoA boat like this, with a VIP on board, should never go on a rescue mission. That's the best way to get boarded and for the VIP to be captured.
- torh 3mo agoSo, different rules for the rich? I fail to see how a rescue mission is more likely to get you boarded, with all the attention a mayday will attract.
- bamboozled 3mo agoWhat a funny comment. Mark’s life is more important than some pleb’s life according to you.
- ncr100 3mo agoI believe it is sarcasm.
- bamboozled 3mo agoI don't but this is the world we live in currently, say something ridiculous, outrageous and then just say "ah I was being sarcastic, or just owning the libs, or telling a joke"
- ncr100 2mo agoOuch, yeah I can't disagree with that observation. I think these times are both: - more aware of each others' behavior (via instant messaging, social media), - and seeing a rise in pseudo-anonymous misbehaviors.
- m4ck_ 3mo agoI assume the reverse is also true? Randoms should not attempt to aid or rescue VIPs, only approved agencies/organizations should attempt to intervene. A cargo ship filled with unwashed poors shouldn't be reaching their filthy hands out to rescue a drowning VIP, am I right?

- ncr100 3mo agoMy snarky redux sentiment, below, helps me when appreciating competitive business folks, though Winner Takes All is present outside the business realm too: "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is also mine."

- dlcarrier 3mo agoThe Yacht Report followed up on this: https://youtu.be/qEo5Rw6AMMU https://youtu.be/qEo5Rw6AMMU The vessel declared a Pan Pan, not a Mayday, so there's no requirement to respond.
- vrighter 3mo agoWhile they were not monitoring the channel, it was not a distress call in the first place. Running out of fuel is considered "non-emergency marine assistance". And one is not obliged to respond to it. Only in a life threatening scenario does it count as a distress call where one is obliged to respond, at full speed, if safe to do so. I dislike lizard people as much as the next guy, but the only thing the crew did wrong was not be monitoring the frequency. Had they heard it, they could still choose to ignore it.
