A rotating ramen in the first position of HN? why?
- sudo_cowsay 2mo agoIt's because it's food lol
- nehal3m 2mo agoWhat’s wrong with appreciating beautiful food?
- embedding-shape 2mo agoSame as always, because people upvote it, probably it's interesting to a bunch of people. > What to Submit - On-Topic: Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity.
- xg15 2mo agoWhoever "people" is. How many upvotes (in orders of magnitude) are needed to get to the front page is still a mystery to me. I wonder if there are "slow days" on which it might be easier because there is less voting in general.
- Cider9986 2mo agoI've seen posts with 3 on the front-page but they have to be picked up to stay.
- sevenzero 2mo agoI prefer that over yet another AI blog post
- user43928 2mo agoThe site looks good on mobile. > No cookies. No tips. No JavaScript. Just ramen. I cannot help but wonder if Claude wrote this copy. Not that there would be anything wrong with that, I am just curious.
- oler 2mo agoIt did not!
- Atreiden 2mo agoA little bit of JavaScript might have been nice. Tapping through a dozen ramens required me to then hit back a dozen times to return.
- radicalriddler 2mo agoRight click on the back button and you get a full list of the previous ramen entries you've viewed. If he implemented with Javascript, he'd have to build a custom history menu.
- amelius 2mo agoBecause not everybody is ramen-profitable yet.
- downwithdisease 2mo agoCurious if I'm alone here, but for me, I love this because it reminds me of the early world wide web and simple sites that showcased one subject matter, created by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, and serving as a catalyst for creating more enthusiasts. Sites like these were prominent in the 1990s before various forces and features and trends emerged that ruined the internet. This site is a refreshing experience and gives me hope that maybe the internet is not fully or permanently ruined. This site is like art about art -- undeniably tasty art.
- ashu1461 2mo agoI just wish there was a filter for articles which are actually technical.
- pibaker 2mo agoIt's japan, baby.
