- MikeTheGreat 3y agoUgh - I'm so sorry, both for you and for him. On top of that, "WebTV" was back before the Internet was a thing and before anyone realized how the Internet can be dangerous. I'm sure it was hard for everyone else to understand or have compassion for him (and you). I'm sorry for you both.
- qarl 3y agoHEH - no worries. That was the arc of his life. I got one for my mom too, and then she moved to Switzerland and entirely re-invented herself at 50. Everyone has a different path.
- rilindo 3y agoI feel bad for not feeling bad that I laughed at this. Every. time.
- qarl 3y agoOMG you have NO idea how twisted it got in the end. I should write a book. Suffice it to say he died under mysterious circumstances in a foreign country and the state department never determined a cause of death.
- kstrauser 3y agoI want to read this book.
- pottertheotter 3y agoWhat?? I already wanted to know more from your first comment.
- sparks1970 3y agoReminds me of https://www.theguardian.com/world/2008/aug/17/thailand.familyandrelationships https://www.theguardian.com/world/2008/aug/17/thailand.famil...
- qarl 3y agoYep.
- solarkraft 3y agoI may not read your book, but I'd read a long HN comment about this.
- vardump 3y agoJust please remember that is not your fault. It would have happened anyways.
- MrBuddyCasino 3y agoBest comment on HN so far. Heres to the boomers who got zapped on contact with the new world due to a lack of immune response, just like the Aztecs and the native Indians!
