- barbazoo 3y agoDo you mean https://brave.com/wallet/ https://brave.com/wallet/? > The secure, built-in crypto wallet that supercharges your browser for Web3. It sounds like it's simply a wallet, not that I personally want that in a browser at least not yet, not "earning" (do you mean mining).
- bastardoperator 3y agoNope, I mean https://brave.com/brave-rewards/ https://brave.com/brave-rewards/ I'm talking about getting paid in BAT coin for looking at ads they hijack on other peoples websites.
- mminer237 3y ago> I'm talking about getting paid in BAT coin for looking at ads they hijack on other peoples websites. That's not how it works though. Brave blocks ads by default, but it doesn't insert ads on any websites. It has some separate ads you can enable to get paid, but they are either on the browser start page or in system notifications.
- barbazoo 3y agoUgh, ok, yeah, I have no interest in that either.
- chrisco255 3y agoThey don't put ads on websites, they do optional system-notifications ads and ads on default new tab window. It's very unobtrusive, and you can just opt out of claiming your rewards or pass them onto the sites you browse.
- NayamAmarshe 3y ago> I'm talking about getting paid in BAT coin for looking at ads they hijack on other peoples websites. You know that's not true, right? Sometimes it worries me that we form opinions from the opinions that aren't even ours. It's opt-in by the way, not opt-out. This isn't Chrome.
- samsin 3y agoWhat specifically isn't true about that? When I used Brave the ads appeared as push notifications over the website you are currently viewing, and you were rewarded BAT for tolerating it. AFAIK the ad notifications aren't at all related to the website you are currently viewing, and the website isn't compensated.
- str3wer 3y agoyou get ads even if you just stay on the brave homepage
- minsc_and_boo 3y agoSame. The affiliate link autofill fiasco left a bad taste in my mouth.
- Timber-6539 3y agoEven though the toggles are hidden deep within the settings, you can disable all the crypto nonsense.
