TweetDeck will soon be available to verified users only
- ClassyJacket 3y agoI can't even see this tweet.
- deleted 3y ago[deleted]
- kristianp 3y agoPretty funny that they've blocked their own tweets from public view as well.
- 3np 3y agoSame. I just get "Something went wrong. Try reloading."
- trashface 3y agoIf you don't have an account (or aren't logged in) that is what you get now. Been like that for a few days as part of their defense against excessive scraping or so Musk claims, but unclear if they will ever re-enable unauth'ed reads.
- midoridensha 3y agoHopefully not. I'd like to see them require a paid account just to access the site and see any tweets. Even better, make it per-use: instead of a flat monthly fee, charge $X for viewing Y tweets, and $A for writing $B tweets. On top of this, (paying) readers should be forced to view ads, with their accounts locked if an ad-blocker is detected, with an extra unlocking fee to be paid to get access to their account again. Overall, I think Elon is doing okay with the changes to Twitter, but I think there's a lot more he could be doing to improve profitability, such as my proposals above.
- freetanga 3y agoPlease make it so closed down that people who don’t give 2 sh*ts about the platform never have to see it again embedded in every News Website article. Lock it down and throw the key. And stay inside.
- _djo_ 3y agoText of the tweet: We have just launched a new, improved version of TweetDeck. All users can continue to access their saved searches & workflows via tweetdeck.twitter.com by selecting “Try the new TweetDeck” in the bottom left menu. Some notes on getting started and the future of the product below: - All your saved searches, lists, and columns will carry over to the new TweetDeck. You’ll be prompted to import your columns when you load the application for the first time. - TweetDeck now supports full composer functionality, Spaces, video docking, polls, and more. - Teams functionality in TweetDeck is temporarily unavailable and will be restored in the coming weeks. - In 30 days, users must be Verified to access TweetDeck. - madars 3y agoAnd looks like previous workaround, embed preview, does not work for >280 character tweets: https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?id=1675990712297443330 https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?id=16759907122... (i.e. it wraps right at "future of the product…") No way this is gonna make me shell out for a cringe mark. Buying organic followers is harder than this ("Rocket to the top of replies, mentions, and search" - an actual quote from @TwitterBlue). Look at owner's own account: 146.4M followers, 94 subscribers to his premium tweets.
- veec_cas_tant 3y agoCan someone explain what this means? I don’t have a Twitter account: > Look at owner's own account: 146.4M followers, 94 subscribers to his premium tweets.
- clipsy 3y agoOne of the new features added since Elon took over Twitter is the ability to pay to subscribe to a Twitter account, which gets you access to that account's premium/exclusive tweets among other things.[0] They are poking fun at the fact that Elon himself offers subscriptions and apparently has converted somewhat less than one in a million of his followers. - sahila 3y agoIt looks a lot more like the subscriptions Elon is paying for https://twitter.com/elonmusk/creator-subscriptions/subscriptions https://twitter.com/elonmusk/creator-subscriptions/subscript....
- ceejayoz 3y agoAren't those the accounts he's subscribing to?
- faefox 3y agoI love how they snuck that in at the very end, like it'd soften the blow.
- lapcat 3y agoIt feels more and more like the AI scraping story was just an excuse to force people to sign up for Twitter and subscribe to Blue.
- jethronethro 3y agoYet another slice in Twitter's slow death by a thousand cuts, with Musk holding the blade
- Larrikin 3y agoIs it a thousand cuts? Seems more akin to how Caesar died at this point.
- jethronethro 3y agoGood point. In any case, there's a lot of slicing and dicing and hacking and slashing and stabbing going on.
- ChrisArchitect 3y agoThe Beta has been crap from the time it appeared years ago, but it is consolidation of codebase it seems which I understand. Thing is it kills key features power-users have relied on for years and years (many of whom were drivers of value to the platform) so it really sucks that this is where it ends up. It's just a bummer. And definitely not worth paying for a lameo bluecheck for.

- FigaroLucowski 3y agoI'm verified and I still Tweetdeck still isn't working for me.
