Y Combinator’s Latest Batch Is 35% AI Startups
- skepticATX 3y agoThe surprising thing about this is that 65% of the startups are not AI-focused. I can’t be the only one exhausted by the discourse - it is an exciting technology but there are still other things to explore. This gives me some hope!

- lumost 3y agoTo some extent this will be like not being an internet company in 1992. Probably a stable bet, and you'll miss the crash and inevitable churn of a new market. But who wouldn't have wanted to be working on the internet in 1992?

- namaria 3y agobonus points for driving hype so you can attract most applicants and lay claim over a higher then average rate of success post hoc, à la Ivy League.
- smt88 3y agoNot for YC at least. They weren't nearly as big on crypto. To be fair to AI, I know people who use it daily and it provides value to them. It's a bubble, but there's something underneath. I've never heard of crypto providing any value outside of speculative gambling.

- pharmakom 3y agoVC are incentivising building an “AI” business right now with easier access to funding. Wouldn’t be surprised if half these companies would drop the AI moniker otherwise.
