Antoine Lavoisier, named Hydrogen, executed by guillotine in French Revolution
- dekhn 4y agoLavoisier's spouse, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie-Anne_Paulze_Lavoisier https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie-Anne_Paulze_Lavoisier was also accomplished. She worked in the lab with Antoine, drawing excellent figures and often writing/translating explanation. My favorite detail about Lavoisier: he used to hang out in the Garden Tuileries with an enormous German lens (the germans were the best lens makers) and use it to ... well, burn things using the sun. This methodology was key to making discoveries of oxidation among other things.
