Being free is not an excuse. If Google can't give a reliable free service, then they should stop offering free services. Thee way they're doing it is way unprofessional.

This is like saying the Red Cross should not be allowed to give free sandwiches to homeless people if they are made of baloney and government cheese. It's unprofessional! Either use premium meats and cheeses and artisanal bread, or don't give them any sandwiches at all.

No, its like saying they should not be allowed to serve expired food and let x% of people end up sick. They should either serve safe to eat food or no food at all.

to continue the analogy; idk if dying from starvation is worse than dying from food-poisoning (quantitative and qualitative). moot point anyways, as google is not (yet) in the business of essential services. they can hand out literal shit and it's totally fine.

        > idk if dying from starvation is worse than dying from food-poisoning It would have to be a major emergency to warrant that, food-wise. Under normal circumstances, no danger food. > moot point anyways, as google is not (yet) in the business of essential services. they can hand out literal shit and it's totally fine. Google is more like the store giving out free samples. It's not essential at all but it definitely has to be safe.

Google is giving out free samples that it’s representing as full service.

The ability to fix an account lockout is not 'premium'.

Are you saying it shouldn't be... or are you saying it isn't?

Using the definition of "premium - having or reflecting superior quality or value", I'm saying that it isn't. A system without it is defective.

If the Red Cross is found to hand out poisonous sandwiches on occasion because of an error in their internal processes, you bet they will no longer be allowed to give out free sandwiches.

> Google Drive is free. The individual in-question was not paying for the service. Huh? They paid with their data.
