Dave Learns to Fork
- packetslave 5y agoFor a second, I thought this was about Dave Rat [1], the legendary live sound engineer, and my brain was like "buh?" 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Rat https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Rat
- egfx 5y agoI read that differently
- tjpnz 5y agoMe too. Time to get that coffee.
- fouc 5y agoThis isn't about forking a git repo, this is about calling fork() in Zig
- mrlonglong 5y agoFork() isn't even modern Unix. Pthreads is where it is at.
- davegauer 5y agoFor a shell? To launch other programs? You're right about the modern part. :-)
- jorangreef 5y agoHey Dave, just to say thanks for what has to be one of the coolest posts ever on fork(). The Ziguana art work was awesome.
- davegauer 5y agoThank you very much!

- davegauer 5y agoHa ha, exactly. Again, I emphasize that this is a toy. On the other hand, there generally _is_ a limit: $ getconf ARG_MAX 2097152
